The Guardian Kennel is family owned and operated. We breed traditional black/tan, black/red, sable, solid black, and occasionally, bi-color GSDs. We have recently added some of the best GSD bloodlines available in the United States, the West German show lines (black/red). Our West German dogs have some of the most recent World Seiger winners in their pedigrees (2X VA1 Remo vom Fichtenschlag and the ever legendary VA1 Zamp vom Thermodos).

My daughter, Elisa, now 13 years old, helps bathe puppies, gives them important socialization, and assists during our photo sessions.

My daughter, Ashley (Leelee), has been raised around our puppies her entire 7 years of life. She loves our puppies! The older she gets the more she wants to help. She tries to help during feeding times, and she tries to help sweep and mop. She just wants to help out however she can. You will fall in love with her when you meet her! And she just might take over one day when I am ready to retire.

Joseph Garcia, breeder and owner of the Guardian Kennel.
Meet the breeder and owner

I, Joseph Garcia, am the owner and breeder at The Guardian Kennel. Since I was a young boy I've had a passion and love for dogs. I started at the young age of 15 breeding German shepherds and throughout the rest of my life, I've bred Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, and English Mastiffs - all together I have approximately 27 years experience in dog breeding. I have chosen two wonderful "Guardian" dog breeds as my breed of choice to further my passion of producing the best GS and Rottweiler puppies that I can.

The German Shepherd Dog is one of America's most popular dog breeds — for good reason. They are intelligent and capable working dogs. Their devotion and courage are unmatched. And their amazingly versatile, excelling at most anything their trained to do: guide and assistance work for the handicapped, police and military service, herding, search and rescue, drug detection, competitive obedience and, last but not least, faithful companions.

Rottweilers were originally dogs bred to drive cattle to market. Later they were used to pull carts for butchers. They were among the earliest police dogs and serve with honor in the military. Most important, they are popular family guardians and friends.

Our Guardians provide the peace of mind and security in knowing my family and home are well protected. One of our goals is to provide quality family pets with excellent bloodlines at affordable prices so whether you're buying a German Shepherd or Rottweiler for a  family companion, a protector, or a working dog, we feel you will get your money's worth with our puppies. We have some of the best quality German Shepherds available here in Central Texas from 100% Heidelberg championship bloodlines to 100% West German show lines to True working lines from and Eastern working lines and true 100% Czechoslovakia.  Our Rottweilers are German bred with our male being massive at 135 lbs.

Please allow me to tell you the story on why I love the German Shepherd breed so much. Thirty years ago, we owned our very first German Shepherd, King. King upheld the German Shepherd standards to the fullest. He was my family's guardian protector. We grew up in south Waco in the early 80's, and, as kids, we could play in our front yard with no worries as long as King was around. One day my sister (two years old at the time) was sitting in the middle of the sidewalk and a high school kid walking home from school bent down to pat her on the head. He meant no harm, but King shot out like a cannon as soon as he saw that kid's hand inch toward my sister's head. He ran him off our property so fast, if you blinked you would have missed the whole scene! That particular incident left a lasting impression on me.

R.I.P "King" A true definition of a German Shepherd.

Our goal is to make your buying experience the best it can be. We want you to enjoy your new German Shepherd or Rottweiler as much as we enjoy ours. Our dogs will speak for themselves, so we urge you to explore our web site further and consider visiting The Guardian Kennel.

Thank you so much for your time! We hope to see you soon!
